When United sold ronaldo to Real madrid, fans and pundits alike were very cautious as to how the team would fair without their talismanic star, indeed in their first season without the portugese winker united lost the title by a solitary point to chelsea and picked up the small consolation of the carling cup. This gave weight to the argument that united were a one man team whilst ronaldo was there. The team was criticized for lacking the flair that had been evident before the departure of ronaldo and the equally loved carlos tevez. Fast forward to the 2010-2011 season the same questions were being raised as united stuttered their way to the title despite their abysmal away form. I tend to disagree with the argument that united missed ronaldo, i feel they became more of a team once he had gone and freed up the mercurial talents of wayne rooney to flourish rather than bow to the needs of the portugese superstars game. It has also helped the rebuilding process at united as i think if ronaldo had stayed it would have helped paper over the deficiencies that the team has such as the centre midfield area and its need for a truly world class ball playing centre midfielder and also would have slowed down the process of rebuilding the squad with some of the ageing players that were/are in the squad.
White girl 1: You know that song “Tupac Back”?
White girl 2: Yeah, that’s my shit!
White girl 1: Who’s it by?
White girl 2: Tupac, why do you think it’s called “Tupac Back”?

The picture above is of a young kobe donning the number 8 whilst dropping 81 points on the Toronto Raptors in 2006..back then his game was more based on powerful explosions to the rim…..fast forward 5 years and in that time hes changed his jersey number to 24 and won 2 more NBA Championhips and reifned his game to a more methodical approach due to his own admisson of not having the same ‘above the rim’ game he had whilst he was still number 8 … in that time niggling injuries seem to have taken its toll on his body, while hes still able to dominate(not as much as ?before) you have to wonder how long his body can keep going through the gruelling schedule of 82 games plus a possible 16 extra if he were to attempt to win a championship, especialy as the Lakers doctor has already stated that his right knee(which has been operated on 3 different times) is almost bone on bone. This begs the question how much further can kobe carry the lakers whilst still being able to be effective with all these injuries mounting up? and do the Lakers need to do the unthinkable and possibly consider trading the face of their franchise for the past near enough decade for a younger star i.e a kevin durant or dwight howard. Only time will tell, but one things for sure kobe has and always will be the best player to grace a basketball court.
